    Save Darfur blasts China’s ongoing military links with genocidal regime

    BBCBeijing’s military support of Khartoum – in addition to its economic and diplomatic support - has been troubling for many years, and Sudan and China’s tight lid on information has made it difficult to discern the true nature of their current relationship. The BBC evidence uncovers the ongoing nature of that military support – though the full extent remains unclear. It also remains unclear whether China is willfully violating the U.N. arms embargo, is turning a blind eye to the consequences of its military support, or is simply being manipulated by al-Bashir’s government.     Atallah interviewed on Washington’s News Channel 8

    Amjad Atallah, Save Darfur’s senior director for international policy and advocacy, was interviewed last night on News Channel 8’s Federal News Today by Beverly Kirk. In the interview, Atallah discusses yesterday’s ICC indictment of Sudanese President al-Bashir and the potential ramifications for the process of bringing peace to Darfur.

    Reported Al-Bashir Genocide Charges Underscore Need for Security Council Action

    Al-BashirProsecutor Moreno-Ocampo’s pending charges against al-Bashir underscore the need for the U.N. Security Council to finally act decisively with a comprehensive strategy for Sudan. The world at-large, primarily the Security Council, has allowed al-Bashir to continue his reign of destruction, recalcitrance and violence with utter impunity. These pending charges must now sober al-Bashir’s international apologists who continue to shield and protect the Khartoum regime from meaningful measures with meaningful consequences.
