Yesterday, activists took to the streets in LA and New York.

In New York City, more than 40 people gathered outside the U.S. mission to the U.N.  They included a group from St.Joseph’s College in Brooklyn who came wearing their St Patrick’s Day sashes on the way to the parade. Some were high-schoolers on Spring break, one was a community leader from Dallas who was visiting family. At the vigil, they delivered a letter to Peggy Kerry, Susan Rice’s assistant, to Susan Rice from the Darfuri community in which they quoted Dr. Rice’s words from her Washington Post piece about the necessity of standing up to Bashir forcefully back to her, and we also delivered Security Council letters prepared by one of our Westchester affiliates.

In LA, activists camped out in front of the Federal Building for 5 nights.  On Tuesday, activists from across Southern California gathered in a large demonstration.  Darfuris from Arizona drove overnight to be at the event!

Stay tuned for details on events in Nevada and Texas, and for a report from tonight’s demonstration in Boston.
